Eric LePape, a contemporary French artist

Eric LePape, a contemporary French artist, isn't just inspired by the sea, he's practically lived it. Before dedicating himself to painting, Le Pape spent nearly 25 years as a petty officer in the French Navy. This maritime background heavily influences his work, particularly his love for depicting the Brittany coast, his native region.
Le Pape's paintings are a feast for the eyes. He uses a palette knife to apply thick layers of paint, creating a textured and almost sculptural quality to his landscapes. Bold colors, especially blues and greens, dominate his work, reflecting his deep connection to the sea. Whether he's capturing a bustling harbor, a serene bay, or the dramatic cliffs along the coast, Le Pape's art invites viewers to experience the beauty and energy of the Breton landscape.
I believe this piece is called, “The beach”
Where Eric explains, "The beach is where time melts into the horizon, where the waves whisper secrets, and the sand writes ephemeral stories beneath our feet.
